I really enjoyed the book!Ī copy of this book was provided by the author for an honest review as part of the DBML program on the MM Goodreads group. I will go buy more of this author’s work–this is the first book I have read. I'd recommend Wanting to people who enjoy 'my brother's best friend' and 'friends to lovers' type of stories. (and I hate to say that is a complaint–because wanting MORE is, to me, the highest compliment). All in all, Wanting by Piper Vaughn is a pleasant short read to engage in on a Sunday afternoon. I would love to know Wick’s backstory! He is such a great character. If any complaints, I would have wished for a longer story and more detail about the “change”, as it left me wanting details. I loved seeing the men’s journey–and the author’s creativity in bringing them together with the inherent hurdles of man/merman love. Enter Wick–the merman with quite possibly the most fabulous hair ever (I’m jealous).
We root for him immediately–and we want him to fins someone special. The author’s voice is perfectly fairy tale and just right for this story about a lonely man who’s suffered and is still seeking his one and only.įrancis is so lonely–and even in the few words of description, the reader can’t help but feel compassion and empathy for his plight. Though short, this sweet tale packs an emotional punch that anyone (human or mer) can relate to.
